All handicarts on our golf course are equipped with a GPS system. This system makes it possible to centrally control freedom of movement when terrain conditions demand it. This makes it possible to demarcate vulnerable areas on the course, thus limiting damage to this part of the course. During the winter period, we still want to keep handicarts in the course as long as possible in this way, so that as many golfers as possible get through the winter well and can continue to enjoy our beautiful course.
When you approach a vulnerable zone with the handicart, you will hear a signal, the speed will be limited and a reference on the GPS screen about the direction to follow will appear. Make a wide turn in this direction until you realise you are out of the zone and the cart is driving normally again. If you have gone too far, the cart will come to a stop. Put the cart in reverse and leave the zone along the same road (do not drive back and forth to get out of the zone). If you are far enough along, continue along the recommended route and the cart will drive normally again. You will also find the above instruction when information is provided in the handicart.
On our course, only those parts of the course that are very susceptible to driving damage are restricted. On which hole you may encounter this restriction you will see on the instruction card provided in the handicart. You then know where to be extra alert. Of course, the (front) greens, tees and rough also belong to the category vulnerable to handicarts. These are therefore also protected via the GPS system. In addition, we rely on the common sense of the handicart user. Thank you!
